Emma Watson May Bow Out Of Potter Films
Wanting to pursue other things, like college
Emma Watson may be putting on her wizard robes for the last time.
The 16-year-old actress, who plays Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter movie series, says she may not be back for the final two movies in the series, based on "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" and the final book that author J.K. Rowling has yet to release.
"I don't know yet," she told the Daily Mail in the United Kingdom. "Every films is such a huge production and it's a long time. I love to perform, but there are so many things I love doing."
Watson apparently is in contract negotiations for the final two films, as filming is already under way for the next installment, "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix." If she did agree to the terms, she would be contracted to the Harry Potter series into her early 20s.
Speculation has run rampant in the past that Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry Potter in the movie series, would not return through previous films, but every time, he has returned, and word is that he is signed through the final movie along with co-star Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley.
AOL News has speculated on who they feel could be possible replacements for Watson if she were to depart from the series, with actresses including Katie Boland, Emily Browning, Rachel Hurd-Wood, and Danielle Panabaker.
