It's not clear exactly what his character will be, but one thing is for sure, he's going to be on Earth: Final Conflict this season.

Alan Van Sprang is a name that has already been bouncing around rumor mills this past few weeks as the latest addition to the cast of the struggling syndicated show that just lost half its actors, and now some more details seem to be emerging about his character.

According to a character listing by TV Tome, the 28-year-old will be playing a character named "Howlyn." The character's name suggests Van Sprang will be playing an atavus, but there is no clear indication of that as of yet.

Van Sprang has some past television experience. He most recently played Dr. Caldwell in the series "Soul Food" and also has made guest appearances in "Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal," "Highlander: The Raven," and "Viper." He also appeared in the 1997 movie, "Masterminds."

Van Sprang joins the cast with other newcomer Guylaine St. Onge, who is playing a yet to be named character.

Tribune has not yet officially commented on the new actors in the show, which is shown in syndication worldwide.
