WB To Sign Off In Style
Netlet To Go Out Showing "Buffy," "Angel," More
The WB will go off the air Sunday, September 17, with some old friends, with reruns of classics from the netlet's 11-year run, according to Now Playing Magazine.
The WB and arch-rival UPN are both coming to an end and will merge to become a new broadcaster called CW.
The WB will say goodbye by re-broadcasting the pilots of several of its hit shows of the past, including "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel," as well as "Felicity" and "Dawsons Creek."
The move required some work on the part of the WB execs because they had to get the
rights to air the shows which are no longer owned by the network, the report said.
For its part, UPN will cease on Friday, September 15. No word yet on its sign-off plans, the report said.
The CW network launches on Monday, September 18, and will be the new home to "Smallville" and other series.
