Carter talks Season 9
There could still be a future for 'The X-Files'
Just a day or so after signing a deal to return to Fox's "The X-Files," creator Chris Carter is talking about the "difficult" decision he faced on whether or not to return, and what exactly his future with the show might be.
"I felt we ended last season just right," he said. "With David Duchovny's (ex-Mulder) announcement that he wouldn't be returning, it created the opportunity for a natural exit."
Carter also seemed to not be too confident that Gillian Anderson (Scully) would be returning when her contract expires at the end of this season.
"If I may steal a little but from 'Star Trek,' I'm looking forward to 'the next generation' of 'The X-Files.'"
