'Eureka' Airs On Tuesdays, Not Fridays

SciFi Channel shifts summer schedule

NBC isn't the only network making changes to their upcoming schedule.

The SciFi Channel is moving its new drama show, "Eureka," from Friday nights, where it was expected to be paired with "Stargate SG-1" and "Stargate Atlantis," according to a news release from the network.

Instead, SciFi will kick off the new season on Friday, July 14, at 8 p.m. with a special called, "The Science of Stargate SG-1," which will be followed by the tenth season premiere for SG-1 at 9 and the third season launch for Atlantis at 10. The next week, reruns of the cancelled ABC show, "Night Stalker," will start its weekly run at 8, and will include four previously unseen episodes. So, where is "Eureka" going then? It'll air Tuesdays at 9 p.m. as part of a Tuesday night block that includes repeats of the previously aired Showtime series, "Dead Like Me," which will be seen at both 7 and 8 p.m., and the ECW (Wrestling) show at 10.

"Eureka's" two-hour premiere will be seen on July 18 starting at 9 p.m. Thursdays will also have a new look, with the "reality" series created by Marvel Comics' Stan Lee, "Who Wants to Be a Superhero" at 9, followed by "Garth Marenghi's Darkplace" (a parody of an '80s horror medical drama) at 10. They will both debut on July 27. Also on that date, "Amazing Screw on Head," based on the Dark Horse comic, will be seen at 10:30 p.m.
