British Police Sieze Klingon Bat'leth
Replica weapon now part of the knife amnesty program.
In a bizarre raid in Gloucester in the United Kingdom, police have seized a life-size replica of the Klingon bat'leth, a weapon which has been seen in countless Star Trek episodes.
According to The Sun newspaper, the blade is just as deadly as any sword and shows the diversity of weapons that make up the knife amnesty program which is now coming into affect across Britain.
"This five-foot martial arts sword capable of beheading a man was recovered by shocked cops," said the newspaper.
Although its unclear as to whether the Klingon weapon of choice was involved in a crime, reports indicate the blade was sharpened so that it was actually capable of going into combat. Inspector Mac McGarry spoke out about the "nasty" weapon, which "could easily take someones head off."
The police-led knife amnesty program aims to reduce the number of blade-related attacks which are gripping the nation, although it has been criticized as a way for police to crack down on British citizens rather than criminals.
