'Serenity' Star To Join SG-1 Cast
Baccarin Will Take Recurring Role
Actress Morena Baccarin, who starred in the short-lived series "Firefly" and its theatrical spin-off, "Serenity," has been cast as the adult version of Adria, Vala's daughter who was sired by the Ori to lead an attack on our galaxy, according to Gateworld.
A native of Brazil, Baccarin came to fame as Inara Serra in Joss Whedon's scifi/western saga.
Fox cancelled "Firefly" after just less than a season, and Baccarin has also done voice work on "Justice League Unlimited" and has a recurring role on "The O.C."
Adria will initially appear as a rapidly-growing child in the tenth season premiere, "Flesh and Blood," and it is believed that Baccarin's first appearance as the adult Adria will be in "Counterstrike," Gateworld said. The character will recur throughout the show's new season.
Season Ten of "Stargate SG-1" premieres on July 14 on The SciFi Channel.
