'Voyager' Actor Joins 'Transformers' Cast
Ethan Phillips becomes first actor announced for live-action film
Ethan Phillips, best known for playing Neelix on "Star Trek:Voyager," is the first actor signed for the live-action film, "Transformers: The Movie," according to TrekZone.
The role being portrayed by Phillips, who recently was a guest star on the popular CBS series, "Criminal Minds," has not yet been announced. Rumors about other actors supposedly in the running for the movie continue to swirl around the Internet.
Produced by Steven Spielberg, "Tranformers: The Movie" focuses on the adventures of robots who crash land on Earth and interact with humans as they continue a centuries-old war. The film's story was by Tom SeSanto, and the script is being written by John Rogers, Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Michael, Bay, who helmed "The Island," both "Bad Boy" films and "Armageddon," will direct.
Look for the film to be in theaters in 2007.
