Season Finales Announced For 'Lost,' 'Alias' and 'Invasion'

ABC sets schedule for end-of-season specials

Some genre fans won't want to stray far from their couches when the current TV season comes to an end in May. According to The Futon Critic, special finales are planned for current seasons of top shows on the ABC network, including "Alias," "Lost" and "Invasion."

"Lost," which is coming to the end of its second season, has retained the momentum that made it one of the surprise hits of the 2004/2005 TV season. The science fiction mystery-drama "Invasion," which follows "Lost" in ABC's Wednesday line-up, will be finishing its first season, having managed to avoid the fate of "Threshold" and "Night Stalker." Those two genre shows were also introduced to schedules last Fall and later got cancelled.

"Invasion" will get a one-hour season finale, which is scheduled to air at 10.01 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17. "Lost" fans will get a double dose of their favourite series when ABC shows a two-hour finale on Wednesday, May 24, at 9.00 p.m.

ABC's other genre hit, "Alias," will also get a two-hour finale, but unlike "Lost" and "Invasion," it won't be coming back after the summer. ABC announced several weeks ago that the spy series that helped to make a star of Jennifer Garner was going to end this year. The series finale will be the last episode. It is scheduled to air at 9.00 p.m. on Monday, May 22.
