Harry Potter Film Gobbles Up World's Fifth Biggest Movie Ranking
"Goblet of Fire" joins two other "Potter" films in the global top five.
"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," the fourth in the successful series of films based on the popular J. K. Rowling books, has taken its place as the fifth biggest movie in the world, according to Entertainment Wise.
Earning more than $600 million in international box office receipts, the film is only slightly behind the first two "Potter" movies, making three of the top five films worldwide from that popular franchise. "Goblet" was also the highest-grossing film in Great Britain in 2005.
"Mike Newell captured the breadth and scope of this story, which allowed us to create a truly segmented marketing campaign that appealed to moviegoers of all ages and walks of life," said Sue Kroll, president of Marketing for Warner Bros.
The number one film of all time across the globe still is "Titanic," which starred Leonardo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet.
"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" will be available on DVD Tuesday, March 7.
