'Witchblade' Adapted For The Big Screen

Two movies green-lit based on the comic series

Over the last few years, comic-book adaptations have soared, creating some of the most popular movies and television series. And according to SciFi Wire, Witchblade is set for not just one, but two outings on the big screen.

Witchblade, which follows the story of a female detective who wields a mystical and powerful weapon to fight crime, evil and injustice in the world, will be re-imagined for big screens and will be financed by Platinum Studios, IDG Films and Relativity Media.

Although the comic book had a fairly successful adaptation for TNT, the movie will have nothing to do with that series. Despite not yet having a writer or director attached, shooting is likely to take place in China, beginning late next year.
