Amanda Tapping Could Split Stargate Time
Actress could appear on both SG-1 and Atlantis
The fate of both "Stargate SG-1" and "Stargate: Atlantis" have been decided. But what about the actors?
Amanda Tapping, who has played Samantha Carter since the beginning of "SG-1," says it's unclear exactly how she'll be a part of the 10th season of the show. But she could very well end up being a part of the third season of "Atlantis."
Appearing at the Gabit Convention in the United Kingdom over the weekend, Tapping said that other cast members were contacted about coming back for new seasons -- everyone, that is, except her.
"She was informed that she didn't have anything to be worried about," said one fan who attended the convention. "They just hadn't figured out what they were going to do with her character as of yet. According to Amanda, there is a possibility that she will be working on 'Atlantis' and 'SG-1.' She has no clue as to how many episodes she will be on each. All she knew at this time was that she would be doing 20 episodes, and that it may be split between the two shows."
Both shows air Friday night on SciFi Channel. New episodes of the shows' ninth and second seasons respectively begin in January.
