Anthony Montgomery, who played Ensign Travis Mayweather on "Star Trek: Enterprise," has released a new music CD, including a song entitled, "Trek," according to trektoday.com.

The CD, called "What You Know About ... ," was produced by Dakari, a friend of Montgomery, and is available at the actor's official website, anthonymontgomery.com. Other tracks on the CD include "Yes They Are," "Gotta Believe" and "Midwest to Wild West."

"I made this CD because I love music and I wanted to see if I could take the ideas in my head and produce a result in an entertainment field I don't know much about," Montgomery said. "I had the time of my life working on this!"

Montgomery joins a long list of Trek stars who have produced collections of music, including William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Brent Spiner and Cirroc Lofton.

In the actor's online Gecko Tech forum, he said, "I will continue working hard to create those types of projects that I am passionate about and you can be proud of." He thanked fans for their loyalty and said he was sorry that he hadn't been able to attend online chats. He hoped the new website would be easier for fans to use in the future.

Montgomery will be participating in the Montgomery Fund foundation event, which celebrates the arts, entertainment and education, in Indianapolis on September 16 and 17.

He will perform songs from the new CD on the first day. On the following day, a Press and Sponsor Brunch will be held for guests, followed by an "artistic summit" which will include a staged reading at the Madame C.J. Walker Theatre Center of August Wilson's Jitney directed by Obba Babatunde.

Fans can also watch Montgomery as Travis Mayweather when they pick up the complete third season of "Star Trek: Enterprise," which is scheduled for release on Tuesday, September 27.
