TV Guide Covers 'SG-1,' 'Atlantis' and 'Galactica'
SPOILERS: Magazine prepares viewers for Friday, July 15, premieres
The following contains MINOR spoilers for the upcoming seasons of "Stargate SG-1" and "Stargate Atlantis."
The July 10 issue of TV Guide magazine features four covers highlighting the SciFi Channel's Friday evening line-up. There are individual covers for "Stargate SG-1," "Stargate Atlantis" and "Battlestar Galactica," with a fourth cover containing a collage that includes one character from each show.
The "SG-1" cover highlights Amanda Tapping and newcomer Ben Browder, the "Atlantis" cover shows Rachel Luttrell and Joe Flanigan, while the "Galactica" cover features James Callis and Tricia Helfer. The fourth cover pictures Browder, Helfer and Flanigan.
According to gateworld.net, the magazine also features glimpses into each show's upcoming season.
"Yes, 'Stargate SG-1' fans, there is life after Richard Dean Anderson," said Matt Roush, Ileane Rudolph, and Michael Davis. "From the look of things at the sprawling complex in Vancouver where SciFi Channel's Friday-night anchor is filming its ninth season, an infusion of new characters -- and a villainous race so powerful it has its own planet-size Stargate portal -- has created a palpable sense of renewal."
The issue also looks at the second season of "Stargate Atlantis." Co-producer Martin Gero said, "We get into some pretty hairy danger, and we may lose some people close to us."
What can "Atlantis" fans expect? "Among the brow-raising Wraith developments, the Atlantis explorers will venture into an active hive; encounter an advanced alien culture that's in cahoots with the Wraith; uncover mistrustful factions among the Wraith who may incite civil war; and begin work on a gene therapy that could devolve the evil race," according to the magazine.
This issue of TV Guide also contains a special "Launchpad" section for the new season of "Battlestar Galactica," with photos of the cast and a quick primer for viewers who didn't watch the mini-series of first season.
Season premieres for "Stargate SG-1," "Stargate Atlantis" and "Battlestar Galactica" air on Friday evening, July 15.
