Fisher Romances Dark Knight In Batman Sequel

Justin Timberlake remains frontrunner to play Two-Face

Australian actress Isla Fisher, best known for her role in the first "Scooby Doo" flick, will play Batman's love interest in the sequel to "Batman Begins," which has apparently revived the DC Comics film franchise.

According to contactmusic.com, the former soap opera star is engaged to comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. No word on whether Fisher will play Vicky Vale or Silver St. Cloud, both well-known romantic interests for the Dark Knight in the comics.

Katie Holmes, who starred in "Batman Begins," won't be returning because she apparently angered executives at Warner Bros. when her relationship to Tom Cruise dominated interviews intended to promote the film.

In related news, singer Justin Timberlake remains the name most mentioned to play the villain in the next Batman film. Most rumors indicate that he will play Two-Face, who is a friend of Bruce Wayne's until he's disfigured when a criminal splashes acid in his face. No release date has yet been scheduled.

To date, "Batman Begins" has earned $154.1 million in the United States, helping the film garner over $220 million worldwide. The DVD will be released on October 17.
