'Who' Gets Third Season

Doctor's companion Rose returns in second season

According to Russell T. Davies, the creator of the latest television incarnation of "Doctor Who,"a third season of the show has been ordered as well as a second Christmas special. The show's first season concludes in the United Kingdom this weekend.

Also, Billie Piper, who plays the latest companion, Rose, will appear in all 13 episodes of the upcoming second season, despite Internet rumors to the contrary. Future appearances by the actress are currently in negotiation, as reported by SciFi Wire.

While Christopher Eccleseton, who played The Doctor in the first season, will not be back, John Barrowman, who was Captain Jack, will be returning, although not in the first series of episodes.

The show's lead character will be portrayed by David Tennant when the series returns to television in Great Britain in early 2006.
