Spider-Man 3 Adds Grace As Villain

No word yet on what bad guy Grace will play

Topher Grace from "That '70s Show" has joined the cast as one of the villains of "Spider-Man 3," according to a report at yahoo.com.

An announcement by director Sam Raimi and producers Laura Ziskin and Marvel Studio's Avi Arad confirmed that Grace will join Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst, James Franco and Thomas Haden Church in next movie based on the comic-book hero.

"I couldn't be more excited about the direction we are taking the continuing adventures of Peter Parker," Raimi said. "Topher Grace is an extraordinarily talented actor and will be perfect for the complexities of the role we are developing."

Which part Grace will play remains as much a mystery as the role Church will portray. While speculation abounds regarding which characters will actually appear in the film, the studio wonÕt say anything more than the fact that both Grace and Church have been cast.

Grace, who has been an easily recognized face from the hit comedy series "That '70s Show" for the last seven years, has begun tackling big-screen roles. In fact, he was recently given Breakthrough Acting awards by both the National Board of Review and the New York Online Film Critics for his starring roles in Paul Weitz's "In Good Company" and Dylan Kidd's "P.S."

He also starred in the film "Traffic," which he followed-up with a memorable cameo in "Ocean's Eleven." He then reprised his role, as himself, in the sequel "Ocean's Twelve."

"Spider-Man 3" will be released in theaters on May 4, 2007. The "Spider-Man" film franchise has taken in more than $1.5 billion in worldwide ticket sales. The script for "Spider-Man 3" has been was written by Alvin Sargent, and production is scheduled to begin in early 2006.
