'Goblet Of Fire' A Bigger, More British Film
Will Hermione and Ron being visiting Cupid?
Producer David Heyman and actress Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) recently discussed "The Goblet of Fire," the next in the series of movies based on the Harry Potter novels, in a chat with Empire Online, describing the film as being more Britain-centric than previous installments.
"There are certain things about this film that are more British -- the anarchy, and the specific Britishness of the school is highlighted in a way that hasn't been previously filmed by a Mexican or American director," Heyman said, referring to previous directors Chris Columbus and Alfonso Cuaron, who directed the first three installments. "There are nuances that will be appealing the world over, but are very much British," he said.
The scale also is a lot bigger.
"The fourth one is definitely the biggest of the films so far," Heyman said. "We have two new schools; it is a mammoth film. We had to build a tank, for example, and Daniel Radcliffe, who again plays Harry Potter, had to film underwater for six weeks. Presumably, he was allowed to come up for air."
Will Hermione and Ron Weasley ever get together romantically?
"I hadn't actually heard that," Watson said. "I have to say eventually, I think it would be nice if Hermione and Ron ended up together, because it's just got to happen really. That's my feeling anyway."
However, she said that it is all up to the author.
"I don't know what J.K. Rowling's got in store for them, and that's the book and the film, not real life," she said.
"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" will be released in theaters Nov. 18.
