Whoopi Goldberg Looking At 'Enterprise' Role?
Guinan is alive during 'Enterprise' time ... why not?
Although William Shatner's guest appearance on "Star Trek: Enterprise" may be in limbo, could other faces from Star Trek's past be vying for a role on the UPN series?
Scott Bakula (Capt. Jonathan Archer) hinted that that could very well be the case in a recent issue of Dreamwatch magazine.
"I bump into people all the time who are fans of the show," Bakula said. "I know Whoopi Goldberg (Guinin, 'Star Trek: The Next Generation') wants to do the show, and they're trying to figure out a way to get her back on. A lot of people who've done Star Trek in the past would also love to come back and do something on 'Enterprise.'"
Bakula said he would love to somehow appear with Star Trek's second most famous captain, Jean-Luc Picard, played by Patrick Stewart. However, he did mention that some of his actor friends like Christian Slater ("Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country") and "Seinfeld's" Jason Alexander have expressed interest to him in making some kind of a guest appearance on the show.
One person still waiting for UPN to show him the money, however, is Shatner, best known as Capt. James T. Kirk in the original "Star Trek" series.
"They're still trying to get Bill Shatner on the show," Bakula said. "That would be fantastic. It's a wonderful idea and I think it would be a blast to work with Shatner. But I don't know if it will happen. He may be very busy in his new show ('Boston Legal') and just not have the time. We're hoping it works out."
"Star Trek: Enterprise" airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on UPN. New episodes begin in mid-January, when it goes head-to-head with Sci-Fi Channel's "SG-1."
