Shatner Still Not Attached To 'Enterprise'
Recent Web rumor is said to be just that
Some sites are reporting this week that William Shatner has finally signed on to do a three-episode arc on "Star Trek: Enterprise." However, a spokesman for Shatner says it's just a rumor.
Last week, a message board user said that "Shatner has definitely signed a deal with (executive) producers to star [in] 'Enterprise.' Developments are now underway for Shatner's return as Capt. James T. Kirk. Shatner has made a deal that he would only return if it was the way he wanted to come back as forementioned in the script he gave to (executive producer Rick Berman) earlier."
The poster went on to say that it was a three-episode arc, but it could be longer.
However, Shatner's camp is not agreeing.
"There's all kinds of rumors flying about," a Shatner spokesman said. "We have nothing to say."
The spokesman also cited a Nov. 17 article in USA Today, that talked about Shatner not taking on projects unless the money is right. It also reiterated a statement in the past about his negotiations to appear on "Enterprise" that when Shatner stated his salary request to producers, "They gasped. I haven't heard back."
Shatner currently is one of the stars of ABC's "Boston Legal," a role he earned an Emmy for this past year. His last Star Trek appearance was in 1994's "Star Trek Generations," which saw the death of his character, Capt. Kirk.
