'Six Feet Under' Actors Kind Of Reunite On 'Enterprise'

Two Vulcan characters in current arc saw previous lives as a married couple

It was almost a reunion that "Six Feet Fans" would have liked to see ... but it didn't quite happen.

In the three-episode Vulcan arc that has been featured recently on "Star Trek: Enterprise," Robert Foxworth and Joanna Cassidy play some important Vulcans. Foxworth plays V'Las, the head of the Vulcan High Command. Cassidy is T'Les, the mother of NX-01 first officer T'Pol (Jolene Blalock).

But the actors have worked together before ... in fact, as a married couple, in HBO's popular series "Six Feet Under."

Cassidy plays Margaret Chenowith, the mother of Brenda and Billy Chenowith -- the odd twins in the series. Foxworth was her husband until his death last season. But while the two have been friends off the set for years before they even played a married couple, they said that they didn't even run into each other during the "Enterprise" episode arc.

"I didn't see him, but our energies are definitely there and present together," Cassidy said of Foxworth. "It's too bad, because he's delightful. I loved working with him on 'Six Feet Under.' He really knows how to say a line. Didn't see him at all. It's not fair."

Both actors had to wear the infamous Vulcan wigs during their time on the show, but Foxworth said he wasn't very thrilled with the costuming.

"The only thing I didn't like was the stupid wig," he said. "It didn't need to be that bad. Even (Leonard) Nimoy's hair wasn't that bad."

It is unclear whether Foxworth will get a recurring status on the show, but it seems that Cassidy may get more chances to return. She first appeared in the episode "Home" this season, and is making her second and third appearances in this arc. Being the mother of the show's most popular Vulcan should help her a lot in that regard.

"Fans have to write in, whatever they have to do to make it happen," Cassidy said. As far as playing Vulcans, she said she tried to adopt her own approach.

"Everyone has their own style," she said. "You don't want to imitate anyone, as I have my own style. I guess I always thought that Spock was the ultimate master of Vulcanism because he was so wry. I loved that."

"Star Trek: Enterprise" airs Fridays at 8 p.m. ET on UPN.
