Fans To Get First Look At 'War Of The Worlds'
First teaser trailer expected next month
Steven Spielberg is working at break-neck speed to get the latest version of "The War of the Worlds" made with Tom Cruise ... so fast, in fact, that a teaser trailer is apparently going to be ready for fans in December.
A source for Cinescape reported that Cruse/Wagner -- the production company Cruise owns with Paula Wagner -- is rushing the movie into production, and trying to get marketing going as early as possible.
"Reportedly, C/W is so eager to begin public awareness of the film that they were willing to spend their own cash and shoot on their own," Cinescape reported. The site also reported that Spielberg is hoping to have everything wrapped up for a June 29 premiere, just seven months away.
So, where will the teaser trailer be found? Cinescape further reports that Paramount Pictures, who also is part of the production aspect, has struck an agreement with Warner Bros. to air the trailer with some prints of "Ocean's 12" on Dec. 10. The trailer could also appear with "Lemony Snicket" and "The Aviator" the following week, which both are being released by Paramount. It apparently will not be attached to "Blade: Trinity."
The movie stars Tom Cruise as well as David Alan Basche, James DuMont, Dakota Fanning and Daniel Franzese.
