Fans Get A Chance To Give Ideas On 'Transformers'
PLUS: No voice actors have been hired for motion picture
Ever wanted to have input into a major motion picture? Producer Don Murphy is providing an avenue for fans of "The Transformers" to do just that.
His Web site, located at www.donmurphy.net is looking for fan input into the DreamWorks production that is scheduled for a 2006 release.
Murphy also took the time to dispell some of the rumors that have been circulating the Internet.
"There are no voice actors yet," Murphy said on his site. "There may be soon. I will personally make sure that our director considers (Frank Welker) and the gang. I think celebrity voices for a film like this is moronic."
Murphy also told fans that there will be no movie tie-in toys. However, he said he doesn't see a "mass shifting" happening, a giant robot turning into a cassette player, or a toy that turns into a pistol.
"I just saw the robots in 'Sky Captain' at Comic-Con," Murphy said. "We want ours to be the opposite of those. Personalities!"
Finally ... about the other friendly Transformers that have popped up over the years?
"[We] are not doing anything with Beasts and Dinos and shit," Murphy said. "The next few weeks will have us, ala X-Men, decide on seven core members of each team. (Producer Tom DeSanto) will be there to make sure we stay true."
