Could Joss Whedon Be Going To 'X-Men'?

Bryan Singer is out ... is Whedon in?

Vampires, space ships, and now mutants?

Joss Whedon is taking over the world. Or at least its media.

After expressing adamant interest in taking over "X-Men 3" following Bryan Singer's move to helm the troubled "Superman" project, it's possible that Twentieth Century Fox may have taken bite of Whedon's offer? No pun intended, of course.

Production Weekly, an industry news-catcher, says yes, that Whedon is now on board.

With Whedon at the helm, filming could begin as early as June in Vancouver. With no script and no actors signed, Whedon has previously shown his feel for the characters when he took over the run of Marvel's "Astonishing X-Men".

Currently, Whedon is finishing up work on the feature film version of his canceled television show "Firefly," titled "Serenity," which is now in post-production.

Neither Fox nor Whedon have confirmed this story, so treat it as you would any other rumor.
