Shatner Says 'Enterprise' Appearance On Hold
PLUS: 'Joan of Arcadia,' 'Alias' lose Emmy battles
When it comes down to it, if fans are going to get to see William Shatner return to Star Trek, Paramount Pictures is going to have to fork over the green.
During Sunday night's Emmys, Shatner told TV Guide's Michael Ausiello that Paramount is apparently balking at the amount of money that Shatner wants to appear in two episodes of "Star Trek: Enterprise" this season on UPN.
"When I talked to them about money, they blinked," he said, adding that he could still make the appearance if UPN executives "open their eyes."
Shatner, who was attending the ceremony as a new Emmy winner himself for his guest appearance on "The Practice," is getting ready for a new series he's starring in the fall called "Boston Legal" on ABC.
In other Emmy news, both "Joan of Arcadia" and "Alias" lost their chance to receive the gold, um, person, holding up the big see-through ball.
"Alias'" Jennifer Garner and "Joan of Arcadia's" Amber Tamblyn lost out in the Oustanding Actress in a Drama Series to "The West Wing's" Allison Janney during the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences ceremony over the weekend. Also taking a loss was "Joan of Arcadia," losing out Outstanding Drama Series to the HBO series "The Sopranos."
