Is 'Enterprise' Off To Orion?
The NX-01 crew bumps into some mean greenies
"They're like animals. Vicious. Seductive. They say no human male can resist them."
This is how the commodore describes Orion slave girls in the original series "Star Trek" episode "The Menagerie."
For a race so popular amongst fans, it may come as a surprise that the Orions have only appeared on television twice. But this will be remedied in a forthcoming Season 4 episode of UPN's "Star Trek: Enterprise."
In the fourth-season episode "Borderland," actress Bobbi Sue Luther described the nearly five hours of green airbrushing to become an Orion slave girl as "really so much fun and I really would do it every single day. It's a little different than just putting on a little foundation, but it's definitely well worth it."
"Borderland" also will feature Orion males for the first time, and Luther didn't hesitate to describe what they will be like.
"They're green and they're huge and they've got piercings," she said. "They're really magnificent-looking creatures."
The episode will guest star Paul Wight, a professional wrestler known as "The Big Show." The characters are said to be between 6 feet and 7 feet tall.
"They're just enormous," Luther said. "And then you have little me next to them."
Luther said she also felt very honored to be bringing back one more of the original Star Trek staples.
"Everybody really gave me props because it was the first time in 30 years that they've seen a girl like me," she said. "So everyone was really excited about that."
"Borderland" is scheduled to air Oct. 29 at 8 p.m. ET.
