Is There Life After Death?
In 'Resident Evil: Afterlife,' of course
It's become second nature that when a film opens well that negotiations for a sequel take place. "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" is no exception.
Opening strongly in the American box office with $23.7 million, it's already made half the box office of the first film.
Impact Pictures partners Jeremy Bolt and Paul W.S. Anderson said they both see a third installment in the future.
"I always thought of the 'Resident Evil' films as a trilogy," Anderson told The Hollywood Reporter. "The first film was a prequel to the game world. The new movie intersects the film and game worlds. And the third movie will act as a follow-up to the games. It's a nice arc -- prehistory, in-game and then a sequel to the games."
"Resident Evil: Apocalypse" is in theaters now.
