Hasselhoff Says 'Knight Rider' Won't Be Farce
Ben Stiller as Michael Knight? No.
In a recent interview on the "Jonno & Harriet Breakfast Show" in the United Kingdom, David Hasselhoff talked about his career, and the topic soon moved to "Knight Rider."
"Definitely doing another 'Knight Rider,'" he said. "We're working on the movie right now. We had a big deal with a big studio, but they wanted to kind of turn it into a farce like 'Starsky and Hutch,' and I said no."
No doubt fans will breath a sigh of relief, after "Knight Rider 2000," "Knight Rider 2010" and even "Team Knight Rider," many fans likely are desperate to see their favorite franchise done justice. This was echoed by Hasselhoff himself.
"'Knight Rider' has such a major following," he said. "You cannot turn your fame back on the fans because guys will riot, I mean this is stuff that people grew up with. And so I want to bring a bit of a cool new 'Knight Rider' in with a new car, but also at the end Michael Knight comes in with the old KITT and saves the day."
When asked about casting, Hasselhoff said that it hasn't happened yet, but mentioned names such as Orlando Bloom, Colin Hanks and others to possibly play Michael Knight's son in the film.
