It Looks Like William Shatner Is Coming Back
Rumors are all over the Internet
Rumors of William Shatnersreturn to the Star Trek universe are always rife. Shatner himself always is trying to engineer ways of returning since the
death of his character in the 1994 film "Star Trek: Generations."
It seems he has succeeded.
According to a source at TrekWeb, the CBS Television City Research Center -- located in Las Vegas' MGM Grand Hotel, previewed an episode of CBS's new comedy series,
"Centre of the Universe," for visitors.
"During the show," the source said, a few UPN commercials were shown, including one for 'Enterprise.'"
The source went on to say that the "Enterprise" advertisement reportedly contained scenes from Season 3, followed by a Star Trek logo and a voice over announcing that Shatner would appear in two episodes this season.
As far back as May, executive producer Rick Berman said the writers were trying to find a way to use Shatner in "Enterprise," but the biggest problem was Shatner's filming schedule for ABCs "Boston Legal."
Shatner said he approached Berman in June with a "great story idea" which would allow for a guest appearance.
Jason Turner, an official with the fan-based Bring Back Kirk campaign, was quoted in the group's online newsletter that while it's unlikely that Shatner will be making an appearance in the fall, he could be making a guest appearance on "Enterprise" this season.
"We can confirm that this is indeed genuine and actually took place," Turner said. "Pick no bones about this, the trailer was shown before a focus group and the guy posting at TrekWeb was not spreading falsehoods. You will just have to trust us on that."
