Roddenberry Looking For Star Trek Fans For New Book
Latest project from son of late Star Trek creator
Are you a Star Trek fan that would like to have your fanaticism immortalized?
Eugene W. Roddenberry, son of the late Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry, is giving fans a chance to do just that with his proposed new book, "The Roddenberry Effect."
"Gene Roddenberry once said he believed in nothing more strongly than a person's ability to believe in oneself," the younger Roddenberry said in a release. "In the spirit of its founding father, Roddenberry Productions is committed to carryong on Gene Roddenberry's vision. In homage to the above sentiment, we present you with the opportunity to become part of what will forever be known as 'The Roddenberry Effect.'"
The book is Roddenberry's first attempt at a photographic book, and will focus on what he calls the "Roddenberry Spirit."
"Whether you dinfe it as optimism, hope, inspiration, vision or humanity, we believe the Roddenberry Spirit is a powerful force with the ability to positively affect and even save lives," Roddenberry said. "'The Roddenberry Effect' project gives you a voice and empowers you to share your ideas with people around the world."
Fans are encouraged to participate by simply sunmitting a single picture and a descriptive paragraph about themselves. From those submissions, Roddenberry and his staff will select what they describe as the most "creative" and "meaningful" submissions, and then will put them into a single book.
Roddenberry has a strong creative team working on the project, including Airlock Alpha's very own lead designer, Bryant Griffin, who developed the logo for the book project. Griffin is best known for designing the current Airlock Alpha logo.
