Could Seven Of Nine Deep-Six Senate Campaign?

Divorce papers between actress, ex-husband released

When Jeri Ryan divorced her politically-active husband Jack Ryan, apparently, it was about as messy as a Hollywood-style divorce could be.

Ryan, best known to genre fans as Seven of Nine in "Star Trek: Voyager," agreed to open the sealed divorce documents between her and the now Republican Senate candidate, which were filed nearly five years ago.

According to the records, Jeri Ryan accused her husband of "pressuring" her to engage in publix sexual acts in different sex clubs located in New York, New Orleans and Paris.

"It was a bizarre club with cages, whips and other apparatus hanging from the ceiling," Jeri Ryan said in the documents. "[He] wanted me to have sex with him there, with another couple watching."

Jack Ryan has denied the charges, but did admit that while the couple were in Paris, they did visit an "avant-garde" club. However, he said the couple quickly left after they started to feel uncomfortable there. Jeri Ryan defended her husband with a statement released through her former husband's campaign, reassuring the public that Jack Ryan is a good father, and that her ex-husband is a "friend."

"In response to the rumors that have been circulating, there was never any physical abuse in our marriage -- either to myself or to our son -- nor, to my knowledge, was he ever unfaithful to me," Jeri Ryan said in the statement.

However, the actress wasn't exactly faithful herself. During the divorce proceedings, Ryan admitted to "having an affair with someone she met while in California" while filming "Voyager," the Chicago Daily Herald reported. However, Jeri Ryan said it happened after her marrage wsa "irretrievably broken." Jeri Ryan later had a relationship with "Voyager" and "Star Trek: Enterprise" co-creator Brannon Braga.

Jack Ryan, who is hoping to be one of two Senate representatives from Illinois, said he will stay in the Senate race. The couple have a 9-year-old son. The records were unsealed after The Chicago Tribune and local area television stations sued to have them unsealed.
