Up Up And Away ... Finally
Man of Steel to make a big screen return
It's been given the go-ahead, then it has been held back, then given the go, and held back yet again. But now, finally, it apprears as if the final pieces of the puzzle are all falling into place for the Man of Steel, as Warner Bros. kick starts the latest film in the "Superman" saga.
According to Variety, production on the new DC comic book movie could begin in later this year, and scouting for locations has already commenced in Australia.
Although the name of the new Clark Kent has not been announced (or even decided upon), six actors have already performed a screen test, including Jason Behr (Max Evans from "Roswell"), Henry Cavill ("The Count of Monte Cristo"), Jared Padalecki ("New York Minute") and Michael Cassidy.
The working script for the movie was penned by J.J. Abrams, creator of the ABC spy-drama "Alias." The budget for the project currently sits at $200 million, but it's still waiting on the final seal of approval before it can be given the green light.
The film will revolve around Superman's battle with Lex Luthor and a mysterious killer from the planet Krypton who has come to hunt down the Man of Steel, the trade paper reported.
Neal Moritz ("Fast and the Furious," "XXX") and Gilbert Adler ("Constantine," "Ghost Ship") currently are in negotiations with the studio to produce the film.
