Zemeckis Doing New Transformers Movie?
Fan said he had conversation with producer friend at convention
Apparently producer Tom DeSanto has been more busy on the proposed "The Transformers" live-action movie than most people thought.
According to Robert Sanchez of the Inland Empire Strikes Back Web site, a friend of DeSanto appeared at Wizard World L.A. and talked about the upcoming movie.
"To my surprise, he stated that the director for the live-action 'Transformer' movie was going to be Bob Zemeckis, and that New Line Cinema was going to distribute," Sanchez said. "Zemeckis had been rumored to be involved in the project, but to what extent nothing had been announced."
Zemeckis' previous work includes 1985's "Back to the Future," 1988's "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" 1994's "Forrest Gump" and 1997's "Contact."
