Readers Give Their Awards Suggestions

SyFy Genre Awards begin April 15

Who should be nominated for the fifth Airlock Alpha Genre Awards, that begins at the end of next month?

Airlock Alpha gave readers a chance to submit their suggestions to our Genre Awards nominating committee, and the result was nearly 1,000 responses with a huge list of potential nominees.

In order to be nominated, the television series/episodes or movies have had to have originally premiered in the United States between March 1, 2003 and Feb. 29, 2004. All properties that cross the gambit of science fiction and horror -- whether it's covered by Airlock Alpha or not -- is eligible in 13 categories.

The list below is what was recommended by readers. This is not a complete list of eligible nominees, and our nominating committee is not required to go by this list. However, they could pull some of their nominations from this list.

The nominating committee has until March 31 to submit their nominations. On April 5, Airlock Alpha will release an expanded list of nominees directly from the committee, where six in each category will be actual nominees. The actual nominees will be announced April 15, 10 days before the start of voting.

When voting starts, readers will be allowed to vote once per day from April 25 to May 25. Winners will be announced in June.
