New 'Punisher' Trailer Online

Features more of the storyline, and a new studio

With Lions Gate Films completing their acquisition of Artisan Entertainment, the studio card at the beginning of the latest "The Punisher" trailer was certainly a different sight.

Fans eagerly waiting for the day after the U.S. federal tax-filing deadline to see the latest comic book film have a chance to see a little more of the film in a very artsy trailer that Lions Gate and Marvel Enterprises have released through Yahoo.

The movie features Thomas Jane as Frank Castle, a former FBI agent whose family is murdered in Puerto Rico, and he returns to Tampa, Fla. to seek revenge on his family's killers -- Howard Saint, played by John Travolta.

The film was done in Tampa last year, almost entirely on location, and featured beach areas in nearby Pinellas County and such. The trailer takes an unusual turn in the beginning with a guitar song that the singer at the end says he'll play at Jane's funeral.

The trailer also features much more heavily Rebecca Romjin-Stamos, who plays Castle's neighbor when he returns to Tampa. It also features a glimpse of the Howard Saint Holdings Building (the AmSouth building in Tampa, as originally scooped by Airlock Alpha), and ends with Castle standing on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge south of St. Petersburg, Fla. That bridge was most recently featured in a national Cadillac commercial where its SUVs caused the support cables to vibrate like guitar strings.
