'Enterprise' Preparing Final Xindi Arc

SPOILERS: NX-01 to take a real beating

Please note that the following report contains moderate spoilers about upcoming episodes of "Star Trek: Enterprise."

How will the Xindi arc finally come to an end this season on UPN's "Star Trek: Enterprise"? The answer: quite spectacular.

The official Star Trek Web site is reporting that the March 3 episode "Azati Prime" will pit the NX-01 in a "dire space battle" with the Xindi, and won't let fans know what happened until a month later ... in April, to be precise ... in the episode "Damage." That episode will air April 21.

With this episode, which also will pick up the Enterprise crew a month later as well, UPN is setting up its final sequence of episodes for the season leading up to what TrekWeb predicts will be the third season finale on May 19.

"The attacking Xindi vessels stop short of delivering a final fatal blow to Enterprise, but leave it virtually helpess with extensive damage and several crewmembers dead," the site said. "An Illyrian vessel nearby has also been crippled from spatial anomalies, and the two crews attempt to strike up a collaboration."

The episode will feature the return of a popular actor. Casey Biggs, best known as Gul Damar in "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" (who led the Cardassians following Gul Dukat's ouster) will play the Illyrian captain.

However, things aren't all that hunkey-dorey with the Xindi Council, as they begint o fight over how to handle the problem with the humans. Also, according to the site, T'Pol (Jolene Blalock) will reveal a "personal secret" as well as the introduction of a character known only as the "sphere builder."
