No Return For Sarah Michelle-Gellar
Joss Whedon discounts possibility
For those waiting impatiently for former "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar to make an appearance on The WB's "Angel," co-creator Joss Whedon says to keep waiting.
"I don't know that we'll see her on the show," Whedon recently told Sci-Fi Wire. "I don't know that she'll ever pick up a stake again. I don't know. But that's really something you'd have to ask her."
As it did last year, there is talk that The WB might not pick up "Angel" for another season, despite the fact that ratings are up compared to last year. However, Whedon says he's taking it one day at a time.
"You know, 'Angel' really is its own thing, and the cast ... they have a lot to go through anyway," Whedon said. "I would love to see her on the show. But we're definitely prepared for anything."
But will the fifth season of "Angel" be its last?
"I'm concentrating on making this season," he said. "And we have an ending that has a lot of closure, but will also lead in very nicely to a next season if ... they have one."
Catch original episodes of "Angel" beginning again this month on The WB. It airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
