'Return Of The King' Still Box Office King
Brings in another $50 million
"The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" continued to rule the box office this week, after it reportedly brought in another $51.2 million, according to box office estimates.
That brings the total gross thus far to $223.7 million ... in just two weeks.
It did more than double the business the film "Cheaper by the Dozen" did, which premiered at No. 2 with $28.2 million. Possible Oscar contender "Cold Mountain" hauled in $14.5 million for third place while "Something's Gotta Give" earnedd $14.2 million.
The new Ben Afflect film "Paycheck" has stumbled at the box office, recording just $13.9 million its opening week. "Mosa Lisa Smile" was sixth with $11.5 million while "Peter Pan" made $11.4 million.
