Cordelia Returning To 'Angel'?
Joss Whedon says it's a possibility
When the latest season of "Angel" premiered on The WB a couple weeks ago, it happened without Cordelia, the character that has been played by Charisma Carpenter since the beginning of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer." But now, it seems, Cordy might be making a return, even if it's a brief one.
While talking to the Associated Press, "Angel" co-creator Joss Whedon said that he has hopes of bringing Carpenter back to the series, even if it's just a small stint to wrap up her character's storyline. At the end of the fourth season, after giving birth to an evil creature, she went into a coma.
"We definitely want to see Charisma again," Whedon said. "She has an important part to play this season to bring some closure."
Although Carpenter's return is not finalized, Whedon said that he was trying to get a return for her character by mid-season, possibly around February sweeps.
Of course, before this season, there was talk of getting a couple of other "Buffy" characters on the show. People like Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy), and her lesbian sidekick, Willow (Alyson Hannigan). But that's coming a bit harder.
On having Gellar return: "I'm not banking on it," Whedon said.
However, Alexis Denisof (Wesley), who recently married Hannigan, said that he is trying to get his wife to make a guest appearance.
"I hope they can talk her into it," Denisof said. "I'll certainly be trying to talk her into it."
