Wrestler Cuts Hair For 'Punisher' Role

PLUS: 'Punisher' to hit theaters in April?

It appears that a stunt on World Wrestling Entertainment's "Raw" program was actually a way to introduce a new look for wrestler Kevin Nash. And the new look isn't for personal reasons, it's so he can make his way to Tampa, Fla., and have a role in "The Punisher."

Nash apparently had a bet with fellow wrestler Chris Jericho that whomever lost the match would have to cut his hair.

Well, Nash lost the match, and now his trademark long hair has been cut to something a lot shorter (and more blond). But there's more to the story than that.

Apparently reports that Nash would be cast in a yet unannounced role in "The Punisher" are actually true. According to a report by Countingdown.com, Nash was offered a role so long as he cut his hair.

Will he be a bad guy, or a good guy? Only time will tell.

In other "The Punisher" news, reports that the character Tombstone would be making an appearance in the movie apparently have been nixed, despite the fact there will be a character with a similar name. According to IGN Filmforce, Tom Nowicki ("Remember the Titans") has been cast to play a character named Lincoln, a name that is awfully familiar to the alter-ego of the albino enforcer Tombstone, whose name is Lonnie Lincoln. But is this the Tombstone from the comic books?

"No, all horseshit," a source for IGN Filmforce said. "The character's name in (the film) is Lincoln, that's all."

However, the site has been able to determine that the Lincoln character will be a bad guy instead of a good guy. According to a friend of the actor, Nowicki is 6 feet tall with long blond hair, slim build, blue eyes and very fair skinned. "He's not bulked up at all."

In one final note, Greg's Preview at Yahoo! has introduced a new opening date for "The Punisher" in theaters. Apparently is gone the Summer 2004 announcement, and now it's being said that the film will be released April 16.
