'Transformers' Coming In 2005
That's year original movie was set in
When will the live-action "The Transformers" be coming to a theater near you? Try 2005.
Yeah, that seems a while away, but makes sense with the fact that the film was just announced, and a supporting pre-production crew is being put together by producer Tom DeSanto ("The X-Men").
"The first word is that the movie is still on track, but there is no script yet or director," Ain't It Cool News reported. "Producer Tom DeSanto is working on a story that will remain trye to the comics and will feature all Generation One characters. Vince Dicola, the man behind the score to the original Transformers movie, was in attendance and said he's actively seeking the job for the new movie."
The original animated feature, which premiered in 1986, was set in 2005, so it is a bit of poetic justice that that live-action feature would premiere that year.
