LOTR Still Filming
Andy Serkis says Gollum isn't quite done yet
Wasn't filming for "The Lord of the Rings" supposed to be done years ago?
Apparently not after Andy Serkis, the recent Saturn Award winner who voices Gollum in the upcoming "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" said he's still doing some camera work for his character.
"I've been really kind of (working) longer than a lot of the other actors, because every single scene I do on set during principal photography I then have to repeat in the motion-capture studio," Serkis recently told Sci-Fi Wire. "I've been really backwards and forwards the last three and a half years ... to New Zealand."
The additional filming for "Return of the King" however hasn't interfered with Serkis suddenly booming movie career. Apparently, he's been working on a new comedy called "13 Going on 30" with Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo.
"I'm playing a fashion magazine editor-in-chief who's very stressed," Serkis said. "Their magazine is on the slide and he's trying to keep all the plates spinning. (It's) quite weird, because I've still got Gollum in my head. All two of the, you know?"
Fans will have Gollum in their head as well when "Return of the King" opens Dec. 17.
