Big Changes For Angel?
Series future still uncertain
There won't be word on whether or not "Angel" will be returning to The WB until May. But in the meantime, co-creator David Greenwalt said that the crew on the show is preparing for some rather big changes in the show.
The biggest problem with "Angel," said Greenwalt, was that the network has concerns that the show won't be able to grow its audience. Greenwalt said he's been working with producers Joss Whedon, Tim Minear and Jeffrey Bell in how to respond to that.
"Most recently, Joss and Jeff and Tim and I went to both (producting studio) Fox and The WB to explain the exciting next year for 'Angel,'" Greenwalt recently told Zap2it. "We're going to revamp the whole show."
One of the revamps could be Angel (David Boreanaz) and his crew abandoning their Los Angeles hotel.
"I'm not sure we're going to blow up the hotel, but the notion is of them going to take a place that is more like an advertising agency, lots of glass and light. It's going to be great -- visitors from the Buffyverse, including a possible regular from the Buffyverse." Greenwalt said. "I think these ideas are so strong that is could run two years. It would be a whole new show. We'd put the characters in a new situation, both financially and physically. It's all about saying, 'OK, you've been on the Greenpeace ship saying, 'Hey, Shell Oili is bad.'' What happens if you actually have to go work for Shell Oil? What happens if you had to be on the inside, grow up, get a real job? I'm really excited about it."
Will "Angel" be returning next year? Greenwalt said it is up in the air, but that is has a "pretty good shot."
