LOTR Gets Strong Early Review

More than 15 minutes of footage recently screened by critics

Although Airlock Alpha's invitations must've gotten lost in the mail (hehehehe), some critics had a chance to get a sneak peak at the upcoming "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers," and one of those critics -- Roger Friedman -- recently shared some of his feelings about the new film with Fox News.

"All I can say is, 'Look out,'" Friedman said of the 16 minutes of footage he had a chance to view. "This may be another Oscar nominee for Best Picture."

The pre-footage included a look at some of the new characters as well as a "glimpse" of one of the giant war scenes in the film.

"It was all very impressive, especially the new computer-generated character Gollum, who puts Jar Jar Binks ('Star Wars' prequel films) to shame."

Friedman said that the new film is much more character-driven than the first one, and could be "amped up" because of reshoots that took place over the summer.

The latest "Lord of the Rings" opens Dec. 18.
