Stahl Shares His T3 Character
Says John Connor still is guarded about technology
Trying to get Nick Stahl to talk about his role as John Connor in "Terminator 3" is like getting a T-800 to smile. But TheArnoldFans and LatinoReview Web sites were both able to get the young actor to talk about his character during a recent interview.
"Well, his whole sortof domestic life has changed," Stahl said. "He lives on his own now, he kind of lives kind of the grid I guess. He sort of keeps to himself and is very private and still has the memories of what happened 10 years ago (in 'Terminator 2: Judgment Day'), which are still fresh with him. So, he's very guarded and kind of weary of technology. He's no more of a leader, in his mind. He's no more of a leader he was 10 years ago."
Stahl, best known for his role as a young boy tutored by Mel Gibson's disfigured character in "Man Without A Face" a decade ago, replaced Eddie Furlong, who played Connor as a young boy in "Terminator 2." Whether or not there will be more films after this one is hard to tell, he said.
"We already discussed that option and I'd love to, but I guess it's really up to 'them' to do another film," Stahl said. "But yes, I would love to do another Terminator movie. Basically, there are options for everybody to return in T3."
Filming for "Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines" ended Sept. 9 and will be released next year. It stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kristanna Loken and Claire Danes. It's being directed by Jonathan Mostow, replacing James Cameron.
