Logan Joins Gladiator 2
'Nemesis' scribe returns to ancient Rome
Most of the principle characters are dead, but apparently Dreamworks Pictures and Universal Pictures feel they can strike gold twice as they recently announced giving the greenlight to a sequel of the 2000 Oscar-winning picture "Gladiator." And the writer? John Logan, the man who recently finished writing "Star Trek: Nemesis."
Logan was part of the original Oscar-nominated writing team that created the first film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Oscar-winner Russell Crowe. Also writing the first film were David Franzoni and William Nicholson.
Not much of the new film is known except for the fact that it will take place 15 years after Crowe's character died after killing Emperor Commodus, played by Joaquin Phoenix.
