'Enterprise' Leads UPN To Fourth Place

Both Star Trek and 'Twilight Zone' open strong

In a night filled with some premieres and many reruns, both the second season premiere of "Enterprise" as well as the series premiere of "The Twilight Zone" -- the latter helped by the release of the second trailer for "Star Trek: Nemesis" during one of its commercial breaks -- helped boost UPN to fourth place in the overnight Nielsen ratings.

"Enterprise" finished with a 4.9 rating/8 share, beating out a repeat of the drama "Ed" on NBC as well as a movie on The WB.

"The Twilight Zone," with Forest Whittaker as the new host, continued the strength never seen by "Roswell" when it held the spot previously, by finishing with a 4.6/8, just a 0.3 drop off from "Enterprise." The remake of the 1960 series was beat by "My Wife and Kids" on ABC (7.5/12), "The West Wing" on NBC (6.6/11), and the premiere of Fastlane" on Fox (6.0/10). "Twilight Zone" beat out the Latin Grammy Awards on CBS and the second half of The WB movie.

"Enterprise" was beat by the season premiere of "The Bernie Mac Show" on Fox, which pulled in a 6.1/11, as well as "Cedric the Entertainer Presents," which earned a 6.1/10. ABC checked in with similar numbers for "My Wife and Kids" while CBS had "Big Brother 3."

After it was all said and done, NBC took the Wednesday night crown with a 7.0/12, followed by ABC with a 6.7/11, Fox with a 6.0/10, UPN with a 4.8/7, CBS at 4.0/7 and The WB at 3.3/5.
