It might not seem like a good sign for an incoming brand new show, but a production stop on the new series "V" is being downplayed as simply a move to refresh some creative juices.

Filming will come to an official stop next Wednesday, and will be down for the next couple weeks, Warner Bros. Television told TheWrap. However, since the show doesn't even premiere on ABC until Nov. 3, it likely won't scramble the schedule for the show.

"V" isn't alone in production shutdowns before a premiere. Last year, Joss Whedon was the subject of a lot of questions when filming stopped on "Dollhouse" for a short period of time while he worked through some story aspects of the show. That lead to some speculation that the concept wasn't coming together as smoothly as believed, but even then Whedon worked hard to cast aside negative reports by simply saying the mid-season premiere allowed the show to be a bit more flexible with its time.

According to sources with TheWrap, the production stoppage was deigned to allow writers on "V" to "beef up" some of the scripts and attempt to "bring them in line with the quality of the pilot." While there's always a possibility that a hiatus like this would bring in new writers, there are reports that nothing like that is happening right now.

The new show stars Elizabeth Mitchell from "Lost," Morena Baccarin from "Firefly" as well as Scott Wolf and Morris Chestnut. It's intended to be more of a reimagining of the popular 1980s product created by Kenneth Johnson, and is being spearheaded by "The 4400's" Scott Peters.
