"Smallville" is moving to Fridays this fall on The CW, but that hasn't lowered the excitement for the series as it enters its ninth season.

The show, which premiered the same year as "Star Trek: Enterprise," has outlived both "Enterprise" and the network it started on, The CW. Starring Tom Welling, Erica Durance, Allison Mack and others, "Smallville" surprised the network brass when it continued strong with audiences despite losing one of its main stars, Lex Luthor's Michael Rosenbaum.

So what can fans expect during a ninth season of the show? The cast and crew of "Smallville" traveled to San Diego for Comic-Con last month to talk about it, including the first Comic-Con appearance of Welling. Yep, he was a Comic-Con virgin, but not anymore!

Catch "Smallville" Fridays this fall beginning at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
