Is it a conspiracy? Or are the aliens working on their own?

The following story is a paid advertisement for "Conduit," coming to stores June 23 for the Nintendo Wii.

H.G. Wells did it with his Martians. Mikel Conrad tried to do it with his flying saucers. And don't even get us started on "Independence Day."

Alien invasions have been a part of books, television and movies for as long as many of us can remember. But all of those past encounters with extra terrestrials are a day at the beach compared to what's coming to the Nintendo Wii June 23.

Aliens launch a full-scale attack on our planet, and even though their primary target is Washington, D.C., it's hard for the world not to suspect that the U.S. government had something to do with it.

That's where Mr. Ford steps in. A former Secret Service agent, he finds himself in the middle of an all-out invasion complete with some of the scariest creatures this galaxy has ever seen, rogue agents, and a collection of weapons and tools -- including a mysterious device called an All Seeing Eye -- that will bring the battle and the conspiracy right to your Nintendo Wii.

Yes, believe it or not, it's a shooter game for the Wii, and there has never been anything like it for the world's favorite gaming console.

The Conduits control scheme is built from the ground up specifically for the Wii allowing for fully customizable controls designed to let you tweak them to your heart's content, resulting in your own preferred set. Even better, you can use the Wii's online features to battle with up to 12 of your friends anywhere in the world in an intense multiplayer battle to defend Washington and the planet.

Forget the questions about whether or not the Wii can handle high-intensity graphics. "Conduit" proves it can with realistic enemies. The Conduit's graphics include dynamic environment mapping, interactive water with real-time reflection, and four-stage texture composition that includes gloss, diffuse and bump-mapping. The game also uses a special AI that allows it to react as strategically as possible to your actions, meaning the Conduit's is no pushover.

All of that being put together just for your Wii.
